Healthy Boundaries through Neuro-developmental Lens- Practical, Relational Approaches for Primary TeachersParticipants will be given an overview of the term 'boundaries', exploring the difference between healthy boundaries and those that may be shaming/ negatively impact on children. A neuro-developmental lens will be used to convey the various needs of primary school children when it comes to boundaries. Practical ways to set boundaries will be outlined with examples that will cover a wide range of ages and presenting behaviours. Emphasis will be placed on setting boundaries in a relational way rather than using fear based strategies. Participants will be equipped with strategies for holding and maintaining boundaries in the classroom that are child centred, research based and proven to increase co-operation, esteem and autonomy in children. |
