Maths- Revising Skills, Not Chapters: Smart Revision for OL Maths

In OL Maths, many of the same core skills appear across a wide range of topics, yet revision is often still organised chapter by chapter. This can make it difficult for students to see the links across the course and to recognise what a question is really asking them to do. In this webinar, we will explore how a skill-based approach to revision can help students build stronger connections, improve their confidence, and respond more effectively in exam situations.

We will look at practical ways to revise by skill rather than just by chapter, mix contexts deliberately, and teach students to identify the key mathematical move required in different types of questions. We will also explore how a common scaffold such as the FIFA method can be used across topics to support students in structuring their work clearly and consistently. This session will offer practical, ready-to-use ideas to help make OL Maths revision more purposeful, connected, and manageable for both teachers and students.

All teachers attending will receive a revision booklet of core skills to use with their students.
