Activating Young Changemakers through climate action in the classroom

A  two part series workshop packed with ideas and resources to bring climate and sustainability education into the classroom in a fun and engaging way that activates students to take climate action. 

In workshop 1 we will cover the basics of climate change and sustainable development. We will play two active games that will engage your students with the topic and we will investigate ways to take action in school and across the local community. This session is susti for primary and post-primary teachers.

Workshop 2: Student leadership through climate action projects (October 5th )

In this workshop, we will explore the power of taking action through activism in school and the community. The session will provide you with ideas and ways to communicate to your students about  the global history of activism and why activism is important. You will engage in two active learning games that will support students to generate ideas to take action and we will design an action plan that students can deliver in school and throughout the community. This session is suitable for primary and post primary teachers. 

The workshops will be delivered by Sue Adams, founder of Education for Sustainability, an award winning social enterprise that provides action-based environmental programmes to schools that improve climate literacy and foster behavior change. Sue has designed and written a 10-week action-based climate literacy course that is taught in 52 schools nationwide.
