This course will explore
- The six most effective learning strategies.
- Unpack what educational neuroscience is telling us about the brain and learning.
- Match this up with classroom teaching and assessment practices to support students to become capable learners.
- Learning how to learn is best done through the subject material a student is using.
Study skills courses in schools can sometimes find it challenging to deliver improved student outcomes because they are not embedded into classroom practice. In a blended learning situation, maximising learning potential is crucial to a successful learner experience and better learning outcomes.
Following the workshop, participants will
➢ Have developed an understanding of the neuroscience of learning and metacognition.
➢ Have developed skills to incorporate six research-based learning strategies into their classroom, online and homework practice.
