Using Music and Storytelling as Medium to Promote The Irish Language throughout the school day

Singing, rhyming, oral storytelling, and reading aloud are essential to helping children learn a language, along with the listening and concentration skills essential for brain development and memory.
Singing, rhyming, and storytelling are an integral part of our culture. By singing and rhyming to children, teachers are not only keeping traditions alive, they are teaching children to articulate words, practice the pitch, volume and rhythm of our native Irish language, and enhance their listening and concentration skills which are essential for brain development, memory and language fluency and acquisition.
